Harold Golden 1929 – 2015 Boonville resident Harold Golden passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Mexico, MO December 7th, 2015. He had been a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home since May 26th, 2015. He was 86 years old. Harold Curtis Golden was born August 22, 1929 in Boonville to Everett and Velma (Spry) Golden. Harold was a graduate of Boonville High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1950. After serving in the Marines, he worked for Southwestern Bell in the Fayette and Glasgow area. Harold then went to work for the Defense Department in 1961, which is where he worked until his retirement in 1990. Harold was a proud life member of the NRA along with being in the Masonic Lodge for 63 years. Harold was a member of the Fayette-Howard Lodge #4 AF & AM and achieved his 32nd degree in the Knights Templar, which he held very dear to his heart for 40 years. He was also an avid amateur radio operator (KOBSE) since his first radio in 1950. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Golden; two sons, Jimmy C. Golden of Boonville and David Golden of South Carolina; daughter, Sharon (John) Stewart of Yukon, Oklahoma; one sister, Evelyn Quint of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and two nephews, Jack and Jim Quint. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one son, Steve Curtis Golden. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 10 AM, Thursday, December 10th, 2015 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Robert Gander officiating. A private burial with full military honors will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lisbon, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Rose Hill Cemetery.
