Glasgow resident, Mary Hilderbrand, 84, passed away on February 9, 2021 at Glasgow Gardens nursing home. Mary France Hilderbrand, commonly went by the nickname, Maggie, was born December 5, 1936 in Glasgow, MO, a daughter to the late John Curtis and Mildred Marie (Desmond) Twitchell. She attended and graduated from high school at Glasgow. On September 18, 1956 she married the love of her life, Donald Lee Hilderbrand. Together they enjoyed over 43 years of marriage. Don preceded Maggie in death on October 26, 1999. Maggie worked for McGraw-Edison (Toastmaster) for many years. She went on to purchase and manage the Boonesboro Country Store. Years later, after the store was sold, Maggie worked as a cook for Golden Hour care facility. Maggie was a devout Baptist, attending church at Lisbon and New Franklin when she was able. She loved to crochet and knit, and she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. Maggie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include her four children, Tom (Leigh) Hilderbrand of Fayette, Curtis Hilderbrand of Fayette Darren Hilderbrand of Glasgow, and Guin Frehse of Adrian, MO; seven grandchildren, Doug Frehse, Alex, Vince, Max and Hank Hilderbrand, Jordan Hilderbrand and Annabelle Hilderbrand, 6 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James Twitchell of Boonville and Chester (Alice) Twitchell of New Franklin. In addition to her husband and parents, Maggie was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald “Hubba” Frehse, an infant great-granddaughter, Kayleigh, and an infant sister, Rose. Funeral services will be privately held for the family at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Arnold officiating. Interment will follow the service at Boonesboro Cemetery in Franklin, MO.
