Joann Taylor passed away suddenly at her home in Fayette, May 15, 2022. She was 85 years of age. Sarah Joann Taylor was born March 28, 1937 in Howard County, the daughter of Walter and Lida (Davis) Haggard. She graduated from the Fayette High Class of 1955. She married Douglas Duane Taylor, Sr. October 13, 1956 at the Fayette First Baptist Church. The couple enjoyed 60 years of marriage until Duane’s death July 20, 2016. Joann worked as a secretary at Fayette Middle School for 23 years, retiring in 1999. She was an active member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her coffee groups. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Robyn (Mark) Bowman of Amherst, NE, son, Douglas D. (Billi) Taylor, Jr of Neosho, MO, six grandchildren, Austin Wells, Makinna Bowman, Nick Bowman, Kelli Max, James Taylor and Kristen Taylor, six great grandchildren, Liam, Raegen, Brooklynn, Harper, Hayden & Enola, one brother, Paul (Millie) Haggard of Fayette along with a number of relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Davis Haggard and a sister, Sue Sears. Funeral services honoring Joann’s life will be 2 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2pm prior to the service. Lunch will be held at the First Christian Church from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church, 307 N.
