Ada Linneman Obituary

Ada Linneman, age 96, passed away peacefully, May 7, 2025, at the Lodge, in Fayette, MO.

Ada Belle (Brooks) Linneman was born January 8, 1929, in Excello, MO.  She was one of seven children born to the late Allen H. and Rena Delphia (Barger) Brooks.  Ada married the love of her life, Orville E. Linneman on February 15, 1947, at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green, MO.  Ada was also baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in 1947 where the couple were devout members for several years.  In the early 1950’s they moved to their farm north of Clifton Hill where they raised their children and became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury.   In later years they worshipped at Zion Lutheran in Moberly.  Ada and Orville enjoyed 61 years of marriage together.  Orville preceded her in death on February 16, 2008.

Ada’s first job was at Thompson’s Pheasant Farm in Clifton Hill.  On top of the daily duties of being a farmer’s wife and raising her children, Ada worked the majority of her career as a seamstress for Biltwell Clothing in Salisbury, retiring in 1994.   Ada shared her families love of horses riding at home and attending horse shows on the weekends.    She enjoyed many memorable tailriding trips with her husband in Eminence, MO, where they met and made many good friends.  She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, canning, and she volunteered as a local 4-H Leader.  Ada was also famous for her fried chicken and cinnamon rolls.  Her greatest legacy is the love she had for her family and friends, God and country.

Survivors include her two daughters, Connie (Rick) Wright and Jana McGuire; five grandchildren: Mandy (David) Bendure, Michele (Jerimiah) Johnmeyer, Marcie (Steven Sullivan) Miller, Jason Wright, and Jill (Lance) Winkler; nine great-grandchildren:  Tanner (Grace), Louie (Halei), Dallas (Rylie), Rylan, Briar, Bristol, Bradley, Tavian and Caine; three great-great-grandchildren:  Paige, Keaton and Wrenley; two sisters, Wanda Sue Green and Bonnie Cruse.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.  In addition to her husband and parents, Ada was preceded in death by her son, Roland Linneman and his wife Patricia; sister, Lois Peart; and three brothers, Marion, Allen “Jr.” and Wayne Brooks.

A private memorial service honoring Ada’s life will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, with Rev. Matthew Resner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Missouri State Veterans Cemetery – Jacksonville.  Final arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Fayette.
