Glasgow resident, Albert Martin, age of 70, passed away May 26, 2025 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Albert Lee Martin was born in Kansas City, MO on December 15, 1954.  He was one of 11 children born to the late Elmer Perry and Harriet (Cason) Martin, Sr.  Having been born with a disability, life wasn’t always easy for Albert, but he made the most of it.  At an early age he’d often run errands for the elderly residents of Glasgow that weren’t able to get out.  He was very caring and always willing to lend a helpful hand.  He loved riding his bike, picking up groceries for people, and making deliveries for Charlies Quik-Chek.  Albert also liked to dance and attend church service at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Glasgow.

Survivors include five siblings, Gaynell Harris of Kansas City, MO, Elroy (Elizabeth) Martin, Delbert Martin, both of Glasgow, MO, Emogene Chambers of Kansas City, MO and Maurice Martin of Columbia, MO.  He is also survived by his devoted cousin, Jacqueline (Ed) Smith of Glasgow, MO, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by three brothers, Dr. Elmer Perry Martin, Jr., Charles Allen and James Martin; and two sisters Addie Bell Cooper and Florean Edwards.

Funeral service will be 2 PM, Friday, May 30, 2025 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Earl Howell officiating.  Visitation will be an hour before the service starting at 1 PM.  Interment will follow the service at Lincoln Cemetery in Glasgow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
