Angelo Whittley Obituary

Angelo Kenneth Whittley “Whitt”, 75 years old, born in Glasgow Missouri, died on June 3, 2024, in Denver, Colorado.

Angelo was born on December 3, 1948, to Helen Ruth Brockman and Kennith Whittley.  Unfortunately, Angelo lost his father at an early age when a farm tractor fell on him.  Angelo and his mother moved to Denver, Colorado when he was ten years old to be reunited with his beloved “Aunt Grace” and “Uncle Bobby”.  In Denver, Angelo attended Whittier Elementary School, Morey Jr. High and Manual High School.  In later years, Angelo went on to earn a degree in Automotive Cosmetics from Pickens Technical School.  Because of Angelo’s love of cars, he eventually opened his own car detailing business.  He had many long-time detailing customers, far and wide.

“Whitt” was known for many things (like many of us, some good and some bad!), but everyone knew his love for the Broncos.  He was ever loyal and hopeful for each game the Bronco’s ever won!  Whenever the Broncos lost, Angelo would cuss and fuss, and brood in his room, not even accepting phone calls from his beloved Missouri family!  Everyone that entered his room automatically knew they were in “Bronco’s Country” after seeing all his sports clothing and paraphernalia.  Every Christmas and birthday, Angelo could count on getting the latest Bronco wear.

Bronco clothing was not the only fashion statement Angelo liked to make.  Among his many friends, all would eagerly wait to see Angelo enter a gathering in his “high fashion” suits, short sets and Nike tennis shoes.  For “dress” events Angelo had numerous canes and walking sticks!  He loved to “look good and smell good” everywhere he went!  With his booming voice and great smile, Angelo was the “hit” of all parties and his sense of humor had everyone laughing and rolling on the floor!

Angelo was described as a “wild man” but he was also known as a “good guy” when it came to helping out other people.  Many kind words will be spoken about Angelo, and will be with each of us as we remember the never boring times “of” and “with” Angelo K. Whittley.

Angelo is survived by his wife, Deborah of Denver, daughter, Nashia, son, Osswan and youngest daughter, Vaille.  He leaves behind his grandson, Moussa, oldest granddaughter, Myeisha, and his youngest granddaughter, Davian.  Angelo truly loved all his children and grandchildren with his whole heart equally divided between each of them.  He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth, mother, Helen Ruth, youngest brother, Robbie Washington, Aunt Grace, Uncle Bobby Lewis Angelo leaves behind many cousins in Fayette (the Madisons), Glasgow (the Enyards and Wrights), and the Whittley’s of Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.  All of Angelo’s kinfolk in Missouri have always been near and dear to his heart and it was his deepest wish that he could be with his Missouri family one more time.

On June 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, located in Glasgow Missouri, services will be held for Angelo.  He will be interred at Glasgow Cemetery, lying close to his beloved “Uncle Tudie” and other family members.
