Longtime Fayette resident, Betty Wyatt, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on January 24, 2024.
Betty Lou Wyatt was born in Howard County, MO on February 5, 1939. She was a daughter to the late James Jasper and Anna Louise (Vance) Skinner. Betty attended Fayette High School and in 1969 started her 20-year career working at the National Garment Factory in Fayette. She then switched career paths and began working for the Perkins Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. After 20 years at the Perkins Home, Betty retired. In her spare time Betty enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She loved to read, watch Nascar, and follow her Kansas City Chiefs. Betty took pride in her family and was a wonderful mother, to her own children and kids that simply took care of, out of the kindness of her heart. Her smile and fun-loving personality will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Survivors include her five children, Chester (Angela) Bias of Fayette, MO, Pam Kite of Columbia, MO, Robin (Sam) Stockdall of Keytesville, MO, April (Dave) Conkling of Lynn Haven, FL, and Michelle (Randy) Brady of Los Cruses, NM; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Penny, granddaughter, Ellie, and a brother, Estill Skinner.
A funeral service honoring the life of Betty Lou Wyatt will be 11 AM, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette. Visitation will be an hour before the service starting at 10 AM. Interment will follow the service at Fayette City Cemetery.
