Long time Rural Fayette resident, Carl Calvert passed away at his home July 13, 2017. He was 84 years of age. Carl Wayne Calvert was born January 17, 1933 in Keytesville, MO to Mitchell and Jennie (Adkins) Calvert. He graduated in 1951 from Glasgow High School. Carl served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Willie "Bonnie" Bond Webb July 13, 1957 and she preceded him in death September 14, 2000. Carl farmed and was a rural mail carrier for 25 years retiring in 2001. He worked hard, was always willing to help those in need and also enjoyed his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his two sisters, Loretta Sulltrop of Fayette and Mary Perry of Des Moines, IA, three grandsons, who he loved dearly, Scott (Robin) Kopp of Springfield, MO, Raymond (Candice) Kopp and Justin (Lori) Kopp all of Fayette, five great grandchildren, Levi, Austin, Lindsey, Colten and Keanen, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harold, Joe, Floyd, Dale, Gerald, George and Herbert, nephew, Bobby Davis, son-in-law, David Kopp, two step daughters, Linda Kopp and Debbie Seevers and a step son, Jimmy Seevers. Funeral services for Carl wil be 10 AM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow the service Tuesday at Asbury Cemetery near Keytesville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Asbury Cemetery or Butterfield Youth Home in care of the funeral home.
