Clifford Innes

Fayette resident, Clifford Innes, age 85, passed away at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO on May 22, 2023.

Clifford Dale Innes was born in Moberly, MO on January 9, 1938.  He was a son to the late Harwood and Esther Frances (Maxfield) Innes.  On May 10, 1958, Clifford married the love of his life, Margaret Rose Schupp in Martinsville, MO.  They enjoyed nearly 54 years of marriage until Margie’s passing on April 15, 2012.  Clifford lived life with a strong work ethic.  He spent most of his career working as a truck driver, hauling numerous materials.  Early in his career he hauled coal, then primarily rock and grain.  He worked for Fred Alexander for 48 years.  Clifford also plowed gardens and did snow removal for numerous people in the Fayette community.  In his spare time, Clifford enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping.  He enjoyed playing pitch and especially loved going to dances and dancing with his wife Margie.

Survivors include his two children, Steve (Linda) Innes of Belton, MO, Sandra (David) Kunze of Fayette, MO; two grandchildren, Gary (Tara) Kunze and Dana (Steven) John, both of Fayette, MO; five great-grandchildren, Jenny, Austin, Morgen, Justin, and Trenton; three step-great-grandchildren, Carly, Cayle, and Carsyn; one step great-great-granddaughter Elena; brother, Ron (Joyce) Innes of Emma, MO.  He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Bernice Eichelberger, Peggy Schupp, Barbara Schupp, Selma Schupp, and Marilyn (Dave) Gerling, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife and parents, Clifford was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Dylan Campbell, and a sister and a brother-in-law, Alta & Homer Dugger and their son Mike.  He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Roy Eichelberger, Jerry Schupp, Larry Schupp, and Bill Schupp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating.  Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church, with a Rosary starting at 9:30 AM.  Interment will be held at Fayette City Cemetery.
