Cora Parker 1941 - 2015 Howard County Resident Cora Parker passed away at University Hospital in Columbia October 1, 2015. She was 74 years of age. Cora Sue Parker was born August 5, 1941 in Boonville, MO to Garland and Helen (Hilderbrand) Salmon. Cora was a 1959 graduate of Glasgow High School where she was an all-conference basketball player with a great hook shot. She also graduated from Sisters of Charity School of Nursing at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas following high school. After nursing school she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. She married Keith Parker in June of 1979 and he preceded her in death October 3, 1991. Cora enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening and cooking, especially cooking her delicious fried chicken for her family. She is survived by her son, Tracy (Janet) Bottoms of Huntsville, MO, her daughter, Julie Green of Fayette, three grandsons, Brandon Blackwell, Matthew Blackwell and Conner Bottoms and a great granddaughter, Kalie Blackwell, two step-grandchildren, Spencer and Erin Woods, two step-great grandchildren, Chance and Tate Woods, one sister, Carol Alsberg and one brother, Philip Salmon both of Franklin, MO. There will be a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Clark's Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, MO with Rev. Roger McMurry officiating.
