Dane McCutcheon Obituary

Moberly, Mo. resident and former Fayette resident, Dane McCutcheon, passed away September 17, 2025, at Boone Hospital in Columbia.  He was 71 years of age.

Dane Shaw McCutcheon was born in Fayette, Mo., February 2, 1954.  Dane was one of five children born to the late Charles E. and Laura K. "Sue" (Woods) McCutcheon.  He graduated from Fayette High School in 1972 along with his twin brother, Lane. When he was younger, Dane helped in the local family grocery business, McCutcheon's AF Supersaver.  For most of his career, Dane was self-employed. He worked in the lawncare industry, mowing numerous electrical stations.  In his spare time, Dane enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle.  Dane was a sweet soul and will be missed by family and friends

Dane is survived by his brother, John "Woody" McCutcheon of Fayette, Mo. In addition to his parents, Dane was preceded in death by his sister Suzy Himmelberg, brother, Charles "Chuck" McCutcheon, and twin brother, Lane McCutcheon.

Dane's final wishes were to have his body donated to the MU School of Medicine for scientific research. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced by the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to Fayette Senior Citizens Center.
