Golden Valley, AZ resident, David Andrews, passed away suddenly along with his sister, Georgia Lee Short, on April 30, 2024, in Santa Rosa, NM.

David Lewis Andrews was born June 28, 1942 in Glasgow, MO, a son to the late Lewis Arnold and Edith (Nelson) Andrews.  David graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1959.  On September 24th, 1960, David married Carol McCarty.  Carol preceded him in death.  David lived and worked in Silverton, CO, in the San Juan Mountains, for nearly 50 years of his life.  He was an excellent mechanic and heavy equipment operator.  He worked for the San Juan County Road Department for 38 years from which he recently retired in November 2023.   David also volunteered his time with fire and rescue and was a dedicated blood donor.  David was a dog lover, an avid NASCAR fan, and loved being outdoors, especially the mountains.  David’s loss is felt deeply by his family, friends, and the Silverton Community.

Survivors include his three children, Katrina Stanford, David “Butch” Andrews, and Debi (Fred Hayes) Smith; two grandchildren, Kali (Robert) Geitz and Randi Andrews; sister, Opal Mae (James Paul) Erzinger; nieces and nephews:  Debbie Erzinger, Teresa (Richard) Jordan and Lisa (Michael) Gemmell.  He is also survived by many great- nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son-in-Law, Tim Smith, a son-in-Law, James Tookey, a brother-in-law, Dale Short, and a nephew, Donald Erzinger.

A memorial service celebrating the lives of David and his beloved sister, Georgia, will be 1 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, MO, with Pastor Fred Krieg officiating.  Visitation will be held an hour before the service at the funeral home starting at noon.  Inurnment will be held privately at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery, south of Glasgow.
