Armstrong, Mo. resident, David E. Wells, age 67, passed away January 12, 2025 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. 

David Eugene Wells was born December 28, 1957 in Fayette, Mo.  He was one of three children born to the late Myrl and Dorothy (Duren) Wells.  David graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1976.  He then furthered his education and attended Linn Tech.  On July 29, 1978, David married the love of his life, Cindy Westhues, at St. Mary Church in Glasgow.  The couple have enjoyed over 46 years of marriage together and share two children, Elishia and Adam.  David worked primarily as a farmer most his life as well as a heavy equipment operator.  When he wasn’t working, David enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved the outdoors, dirt bike racing, hunting, and trap shooting. David enjoyed traveling and going to rock concerts with his family.  He also loved watching his son and grandchildren race dirt bikes. David spent many years as a 4-H youth leader and FFA supporter teaching youths in the community trap shooting.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Glasgow, Mo.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Cindy Wells; two children, Elishia Wells of Kansas City, Mo. and Adam (Jaurie) Wells of Urich, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Zachary (Rachel) Hamblin, Grant Hamblin, Ryder, Tommy, Wyatt, Shya, Avy, Quayd and McCoy Wells; two siblings, Kenny (Paula) Wells of Armstrong, Mo. and Donna (Freddie) Bockting of Fayette, Mo.  David is also survived by special friends, Russell Crowley and David Matthews, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasgow.  Interment will follow the service at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Mo.
