Deborah Temmen Obituary

Glasgow resident, Debbie Temmen, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at her home March 1, 2023.

Deborah Anne Wright was born April 30, 1951 in Jackson County, MO.  She was a daughter born to the late David Jerome and Virginia (Heying) Ruether.  Debbie graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1969.  On February 20, 1998, Debbie married Edward Temmen.  Ed preceded her in death on July 4, 2016.  Along with owning and operating the family farm, Debbie worked as a gas and oil dispatcher for MFA and Temmen Transport.  She also worked at Saffee’s Ladies Apparel in Jefferson City for numerous years.  Most recently and up until the time of her death, Debbie worked for Beckett’s Winery, where she would greet patrons with a friendly smile, conversation, and excellent service.  Debbie had a love and passion to travel and enjoyed traveling with Ed to Europe, Las Vegas, the Caribbean and wintering in Florida to collect seashells.  She was a people person that loved entertaining family and friends.  She was a nurturing and selfless person but most of all, she loved her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her two children, Elisha (Jeff) Speight of Independence, MO and Todd (Sonya) Jackson of Orange Beach, AL; five grandchildren, Mandolin, Ivy, Ian, Gracie and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Delilah; two sisters, Kitty (Lonnie) Beckett of Glasgow and Sheri (John) Richey of Independence, MO; one brother, David (Jennifer) Wright of Kansas City, MO; three step-daughters, Tricia Temmen, Traci Temmen and Tara Goins; and five step-grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Edward, Gavin and Avery.  In addition to her husband and parents, Debbie was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Wright Kennedy.

A celebration honoring Debbie’s life will be held from 4-7 PM at Friemonth’s Landing in Glasgow, Thursday, March 9, 2023.  Graveside Memorial Service will be 10 AM, Friday, March 10, 2023 at Washington Cemetery, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating.
