Fayette resident, Donald LeNoir, age 93, passed away July 13, 2023 at The Lodge in Fayette, MO.
Donald Alexander LeNoir was born January 13, 1930 in Gilliam, MO, a son to the late Lee Walter and Molly (Kaufman) LeNoir. He graduated from Gilliam High School with the class of 1948. Following graduation, Donald enlisted with the U.S. Army and served his country. Earning the rank of Sargent, Donald specialized in auto mechanics and was stationed in Alaska for four years. He was honorably discharged in 1952. On November 26, 1958, Donald married the love of his life, Darlene Campbell. Together they’ve enjoyed over 64 years of marriage. As a farmer, Donald had a strong work ethic. He farmed in both Saline and Howard County. He was also a great mechanic, often tinkering and repairing farm machinery and equipment. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed fishing and playing his harmonica.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Darlene LeNoir; daughter, Karen (Ozzie) Gonzalez; daughter-in-law, Diana LeNoir; two grandchildren, Dalton and Katrina LeNoir; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Lainey Oser; and a sister, Katherine Moore.
A funeral service honoring Mr. LeNoir’s life will be 10 AM, Monday, July 17, 2023 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Terry Sandwith officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
