Edith See Obituary

Fayette resident, Edith See, age 69, passed away August 30, 2024 at Glasgow Gardens following a two-year battle with cancer.

Edith Nora (Smith) See was born March 2, 1955, in Pike County in Curryville, Missouri to Charles and Wilma Jo (Wood) Smith.  She grew up in Vandalia, Curryville, and Alton, Illinois.  She attended school in Vandalia and later went on to get her GED and EMT license.

She married Bobby Lee See on February 24, 1972, in Eolia, Missouri.  Edith worked for home health in Fayette for a number of years.  Edith enjoyed taking care of people and cooking, but most of all she loved being with her family.  She wanted more than anything for them to enjoy life and have many memories of the fun times they had with Mom and Dad and with Mama and Papa.  Most of all she wanted them all to know how much she loved them.

Edith is survived by three children, David (Amber) See of Salisbury, MO, Darin (Paula) See of Fayette, MO and Karen See of Columbia, MO. Grandchildren Gabriel (Ali) See, Katie See, Karen See, Emily See, Audrey See, Zander See, Destin See, Courtland (Andrea) Ross, Heaven Ross, and Haley Ross. Great-grandchildren Sophia Gerke, Camryn Gerke, and Arizona Bauer. Siblings Jewell Wharton of Washington, Eloise Weese of Gardner, KS, Leon Smith of Leavenworth, KS, Loren Wood Smith of New York, NY.  Edith is also survived by many family members and friends that loved her so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby Lee See, as well as siblings Linda Sue Quest, Alva Jean Todd, Geneva Mingee, Riley Joe Smith, Gary Smith, and grandson Devin See.
