Covina, CA resident, Georgia Short, age 83, passed away suddenly along with her brother, David Lewis Andrews, on April 30, 2024, in Santa Rosa, NM.

Georgia Lee Short was born May 15, 1940 in Glasgow, MO, a daughter to the late Lewis Arnold and Edith (Nelson) Andrews.  Georgia graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1957.  On Christmas Day, December 25th, 1959, Georgia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale Short.  Dale and Georgia enjoyed 44 years together until Dale’s passing in 2003.  After settling in Covina, CA Georgia worked as a switch board operator for many years.  Georgia worked as an office clerk for A 1 Maintenance Services, a job she has held for the past 22 years.  Georgia was an avid LA Dodger’s fan and enjoyed reading, tending to her plants, and she loved to bake.  Georgia also loved listening to her favorite country western music.  She will be remembered for spreading joy and love through the greeting cards she always sent to her family and many friends.  Georgia’s loss is felt deeply by her family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Survivors include her sister, Opal Mae (James Paul) Erzinger, of Imperial, MO.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews:  Katrina Stanford, David “Butch” Andrews, and Debi (Fred Hayes) Smith, Debbie Erzinger, Teresa (Richard) Jordan and Lisa (Michael) Gemmell.  She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Georgia was preceded in death by nephews, Donald Erzinger and Terry Short.

A memorial service celebrating the lives of Georgia and her beloved brother, David, will be 1 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, MO, with Pastor Fred Krieg officiating.  Visitation will be held an hour before the service at the funeral home starting at noon.  Inurnment will be held privately at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery, south of Glasgow.
