Gerald Martin

Boonville, MO resident, Gerald Martin, 89, passed away at Ashley Manor Care Center on May 12, 2023.

Gerald Lane Martin was born February 27, 1934 in Slater, MO.  He was one of eight children born to the late Charles Elmo and Violet Esther (Forqueran) Martin.  Gerald graduated from Slater High School.  Following graduation, Gerald enlisted with the U.S. Air Force.  Gerald honorably served his country for four years and was discharged in March of 1957.  Gerald spent his career working in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator.  Gerald was preceded in death by two wives, Yvonne Mize and Rose Hicklen.  When his health rendered him able, Gerald enjoyed attending Life Church of the Nazarene in Warrensburg, MO.

Survivors include his daughter, Alicia Woods of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; three sisters, Genny Meyer, Edna Blackwell, both of Glasgow, MO and Carol Coltharp of Slater, MO.  In addition to his two wives and parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Brian Martin, an infant daughter, brother, Richard Martin, and three sisters, Louise Bryant, Sally Tracy, and Anna Gauldin.

Services with military honors will be held privately.
