Harlan Cole, 74, passed away at the Lodge in Fayette, MO on April 10, 2023.
Harlan L. Cole was born March 24, 1949 in Hastings, MN. He was a son to the late Katherine Elizabeth (Genadek) Seedorff and stepson to the late Robert Lyle Seedorff. Harlan graduated from Fayette High School with the class of 1969. Immediately following graduation, Harlan enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and served his country for nearly four years, specializing in aircraft mechanics and maintenance. He was honorably discharged from reserve on June 1, 1975. On April 8, 1983, Harlan married Suann Flaspohler in Fayette, MO. The couple just recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Harlan worked for the Fayette School District for numerous years, starting out as a custodian. He worked his way to Maintenance Supervisor, and held that position until retiring in 2009. Harlan enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Suann Cole of New Franklin, MO; three children, Tammi (Robin) Eads of Harrisburg, MO, Michael Cole of Fayette, MO and Robert (Wendy) Cole of Fayette, MO; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma (Don) Haase of Marshall, MO, Sadie (Don) Simmons of Robertsville, MO and Sharon (Tim) Waters of St. Joseph, MO. In addition to his parents, Harlan was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cole.
A private memorial service with full military honors will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. Memorial contributions may be made in Harlan’s name to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 1479 County Rd. 1675, Jacksonville, MO 65260.
