Former Fayette resident passed away April 10, 2026 in Bunceton, MO.  She was 76 years of age.


Helen Fay Parker was born March 2, 1950 to Fred and Azill (Skaggs) Gibson.  She graduated from the Fayette High School class of 1969. She married Jimmie Dale Parker and he preceded her in death September 9, 2015.  Helen worked as a nurse’s aide at Keller Hospital, Cooper County Hospital and privately for over 40 years.  She was known for being an excellent care giver to many patients in Howard and Cooper County.  Helen liked cooking and being in the outdoors when ever possible.  She loved being with her children and grandchildren.


Survivors include her son, Kevin (Arianna) Parker of New Franklin, Two daughter, Jeannie Parker of Fayette and Janie (Timmy) Moore of Bunceton, 7 grandchildren, Jimmie (Christina) Parker, William Wright, Russell Wheeler, Krista Parker, Monica (Colton) Messex, Shelia Zimmerman and Desire Moore, 10 great grandchildren and one sister, Brenda Messerly of Marshall, MO, a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Gibson and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Elleck, Billy and Jim Gibson and one sister, Bessie Owen Moore. 


Helen didn’t want a funeral service, so the family will be having a celebration of life gathering 1 to 4 PM, Saturday, April 25th at the lower shelter house in the Fayette City Park.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be for the Pulliam Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N, Fayette, MO 65248.
