Marshall, MO resident, James Harris, Jr., passed away suddenly at his home on September 2, 2025, at the age of 65.

James Harris, Jr. was born in Moberly, MO on May 23, 1960.  He was one of four children born to the late James and Brenda Marie (Butner) Harris, Sr.  James graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1978.  Following graduation, James enlisted with the United States Army.  He served and was honorably discharged in January of 1979.  James worked as a machinist in the factory and manufacturing industry, both in Warrensburg and Sedalia.  He also worked for the city of Warrensburg.  Faith and religion were an important part of his life.  James was an ordained minister for Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO.  In his spare time, James enjoyed attending family gatherings and reunions, and he also liked going to the movies.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Woods, of Moberly, MO; grandson, Jaydeus Woods, of Moberly, MO; three sisters, Pat (Greg Warren) Bynum, of Columbia, MO, Ava (Mike) Conway, of Marshall, MO and Valerie Harris, of Glasgow, MO; nephews, Chuck, Darren and Dontri Harris, Jessie and Marvin Williams, and Marcus Lewis; nieces, Angela Brown and Joneesha Bynum.  He is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a nephew, John Bynum.

The family of James Harris will host a memorial service 1 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Glasgow, with Rev. Sandra Enyard officiating.
