Johnny Ray passed away on June 20 2017 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was 64. Johnny Wayne Ray, Sr. was born in Fayette, Missouri, the son of James Lee and Era Leona (Reinwald) Ray. Johnny graduated from Fayette High School. When he was able, Johnny worked as a mechanic in the automobile industry. He worked at O'Brian's MFA service station in Fayette for a number of years. He is survived by one son, Johnny Wayne (Sarah) Ray, Jr. of Blue Springs, Missouri; two grandsons, McKenzie Harvey and James Lee Ray; sister, Patsy (John) Schaefer of Glasgow, Missouri; sister-in-law, Jeanette Ray of Higbee, Missouri; and several nieces. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by a brother, James Galen Ray. There will be no services at this time. Burial will be privately held at a later date at the Roanoke Cemetery in Roanoke, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Roanoke Cemetery, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Glasgow.
