Former Armstrong, MO resident, Karen Vukadin, age 71, passed away peacefully at the Lodge in Fayette, MO on December 2, 2024, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Karen June Vukadin was born March 16, 1953 in Waukegan, IL.  She was one of seven children born to the late Leonard and Florence (Smith) Vukadin.  Karen graduated from Rankin Township High School in Rankin, IL, with the class of 1971.  Karen worked as a seamstress for National Garment Factory for several years.  She most recently worked for Hallmark in Moberly, MO.  Karen was a devout member of Armstrong First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and spoiling her cats.

Survivors include her four siblings, Kathleen Vukadin of Waukegan, IL, Larry (Anna Rose) Vukadin of Armstrong, MO, Kerry Vukadin of Waukegan, IL and James Talley of Zion, IL.  She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a great-niece.  In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by two siblings, Kevin Vukadin and Madelon Wengel.

A funeral service honoring the life of Ms. Vukadin will be 11 AM, Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, MO, with Rev. Robert Shultz officiating.  Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home, starting at 10 AM.  Interment will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery, outside of Armstrong, MO.
