Fayette resident Lavece Fisher passed away at the Fayette Caring Center May 19, 2014. She was 87 years of age. Kathryn Lavece Fisher was born April 29, 1927 in Marshall, MO to Elliot and Opal (Duren) Davis. She lived in Howard County most of her life. She attended Farmers High and graduated from New Franklin High School class of 19 . She married George Fisher December 25, 1951 at her parent's home in Fayette while he was home on leave from the Army, before shipping out to Korea. He preceded her in death November 6, 1994. Besides being a homemaker and housewife, Lavece, worked as a secretary for Kline Insurance and Town and Country Insurance in Fayette for a number of years. In her later years she enjoyed attending and helping at the Fayette Senior Center. Lavece was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mona Fisher of Fayette and Monica Fisher of Columbia, one son, Mark (Shari) Fisher of Fayette, six grandchildren, Marissa (Steven) John, Carrie (Mason) Spurgeon, Lacey (Jarrell) Smith, Timothy (Erica) Fisher, Rebecca (Cameron) Mackey and Kara Nichols and 12 great grandchildren, one sister, Joyce Hull of Franklin and one brother, Bill Davis of Broken Arrow, OK. Funeral services will be 3 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Paula Ritchie officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial in the Fayette City Cemetery.
