Linda Wallace

Linda Marie Wallace, lovingly known as “Peanut,” passed away peacefully at her home on June 9, 2026, at the age of 32.

Linda was born on July 12, 1993, and soon after adopted by David and Sheila Wallace. She graduated from Fayette High School with the Class of 2012.

Linda was born with physical disabilities and used a wheelchair throughout her life, but those who knew her know that her disability was only a small part of who she was. She was funny, stubborn, determined, and full of life. She loved to laugh, tease people, and had a way of leaving an impression on everyone she met. And if she thought it was deserved, you might even hear her call her dad an a—hole.

Family was at the center of Linda’s life. She loved being an aunt and treasured time spent with her nieces and nephews, Jonah, Cora, Elijah, and Alex. She took her job as Aunt seriously and when she was responsible for babysitting, she wouldn’t take her eyes off of them.  Simply spending time with them brought her tremendous joy.

Although Linda was unable to walk or speak and had very limited motor abilities, she was remarkably intelligent and understood far more than many people realized. She had a sharp mind, a quick wit, and an incredible ability to connect with others. One of Linda’s greatest gifts was her empathy. She seemed to feel the joys and hurts of those around her deeply and cared sincerely about the people she loved. Her compassion, understanding, and sensitivity touched countless lives.

Linda loved dogs, country music, and helping in the kitchen. She was known as mom’s sous chef and would create the best recipes. Luke Bryan was her favorite artist, and she rarely passed up an opportunity to listen to his music. One of her favorite sayings was “Love You to the Moon and Back,” and she swore Luke Bryan wrote it for her.

Some of Linda’s favorite memories included being cast in a local movie and attending Fayette High School’s Senior Prom with two University of Missouri football players as her escorts. She enjoyed meeting new people and never missed a chance to be involved in what was going on around her.

More than anything, Linda will be remembered for her sense of humor, her resilience, and the joy she brought to others. She faced life’s challenges with strength and determination and taught those around her to appreciate the little things. Her smile, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed.

Linda is survived by her parents, David and Sheila Wallace of Fayette, Missouri; her sister, Sarah Craig and her husband Ben Craig of Columbia, Missouri; her niece and nephews, Jonah Sarabia, Cora Craig, Elijah Craig, and Alex Hooper; and many extended family members, friends, and caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Chris Hooper.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette, Missouri, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wallace Family. Donations received will be used to support local accessibility projects in Linda’s memory.
