Margaret Clayton 1947 - 2015 Fayette resident Margaret Clayton passed away at her home on October 9, 2015. She was 67 years of age. Margaret "Marty" Lee Clayton was born in Fayette on December 6, 1947, the daughter of Jimmie Lee and Dorothy Lucille (Smothers) Perkins. She was educated in the Fayette Public Schools, recently celebrating with her classmates the fifty year reunion of the Fayette High School graduating class of 1965. Marty had been employed as a Supervisor at the Boonville Correctional Center for a number of years. She was a member of the Fayette First Baptist Church. Marty is survived by two sons; Gleandall and his wife, Kelly, Clayton and Stacey Clayton all of Fayette, and by her daughter, Kim and her husband, Roger, Powelson of Clifton Hill, MO. Three grandchildren also survive; Nathan, Kayla and Nick as does her sister, Linda and her husband Jack Carter of Fayette. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Perkins. A memorial service for Margaret Clayton will be held at 2 PM on Monday, October 12 at the Fayette First Baptist Church with Rev. James Briggs officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service, from 1 to 2 PM. Private burial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Howard County Food Pantry, Coats for Kids, or First Baptist Church in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N. Fayette, MO.
