Fayette resident, Martha Marshall passed away at Fayette Caring Center August 15, 2014. She was 83 years of age. Martha Elizabeth Marshall was born March 4, 1931. Her parents were Roy and Gladys Shields. She was a graduate of Higbee High School. Martha married Marion Marshall November 27, 1969 and he preceded her in death March 9, 2010. Mrs. Marshall worked as a secretary at the Fayette Clinic and also operated a day care for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping, sewing, quilting, and collecting antiques and craft items. Martha is survived by a son, Henry Michael Mallinckrodt, a daughter-in-law, Donna Mallinckrodt, two granddaughters, Kimberly Bowman and Theresa Mallinckrodt. Her close friend, Wilburn "Sonny" Lynn, also survives. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Mallinckrodt and a daughter, Suzie Marriott. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Memorials to help defray funeral expenses are suggested to Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service.
