Glasgow resident, Mary Etta Gebhardt, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on December 20, 2023.

Mary Etta Gebhardt was born on October 7, 1936 in Forest Green, MO. She was the daughter of the late Edgar H. and Mary (Linneman) Gebhardt. Mary Etta attended Glasgow High School and graduated with the class of 1954. She attended St. Paul’s College at Concordia and taught at Salem Lutheran School for 3 years. Mary Etta began her bookkeeping career in 1959, working for the Glasgow Co-op. She was with the Co-op for 34 years, retiring in 1993. Mary Etta loved the Glasgow community, supporting numerous local organizations and the Yellowjackets. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mary Etta was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church, serving as an organist and member of Salem Ladies Evening Group.

Survivors include her cousins and their families: Harley Gebhardt, Sandra Sanders, Linda Rusche, Eldan Gebhardt, and Mary Pilkenton. She is also survived by numerous relatives and close friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Etta was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A funeral service for Mary Etta Gebhardt will be 11 AM, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church in Forest Green, MO, with Pastor Noah Burgdorf officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the church starting at 10 AM. Interment will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
