Former Glasgow resident, Melody Heying passed away May 21, 2016 at Parkside Manor in Columbia, Missouri. She was 54 years of age. Melody had been residing in Boonville, Missouri. Melody Heying was born September 5, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Richard and Irene (Witbeck) Esterly. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Richard Esterly. Melody graduated from high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then went on to graduate from Cosmetology School in Philadelphia. She was a hair stylist for many years while living in Pennsylvania. She also had worked several years as a waitress in the restaurant business. Melody was an artist. She made custom jewelry and enjoyed all mediums of art. She loved painting furniture with an artist flare. She had a passion for quilting and gourmet cooking. Some of her art work was shown in Riverport Market in Glasgow, Missouri. She married Michael Heying on August 10, 1997 in Tombstone, Arizona. Melody is survived by her mother, Irene Curran of Rio Grande, New Jersey; two sisters, Edna Grabert and April DelPrato; a brother, Mark Esterly; and her ex-husband and special friend Michael Heying of Glasgow. As was Melody's wishes, there will be no memorial service at this time. Other arrangements were handled by Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, Missouri.
