Nancy Colvin 1929 - 2014 Nancy Colvin passed away at Boone Hospital Center December 16, 2014. She was 85 years of age. Nancy Joe Colvin was born April 7, 1929 in Boone County to Joseph and Clara (Walker) Asbury. She graduated from Fayette High School in 1948. She married Melvin Colvin May 27, 1950 in Fayette, MO and he preceded her in death June 5, 1973. Mrs. Colvin worked as a cook in the Glasgow Public School for a number of years. Besides cooking Nancy enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She is survived by her son, Tom Colvin of Fayette, a sister, Beverly Davis of Rockwall, TX and a sister-in-law, Nancy Asbury of Fayette and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rilla Sue Colvin, a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Donna Colvin, two brothers, Thomas Asbury and Glen Walker and one sister, Eunice Wilhoit. A funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Revs. Roger McMurry and Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Higbee, MO. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery or the Joseph and Donna Colvin Scholarship Fund in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
