Nina Bell Schaefer, 93, passed away peacefully October 17, 2024 at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO.

Nina Bell Schaefer was born in Lisbon, MO on August 27, 1931 to the late Crate and Olie (Srey) Ivy Reams.  She graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1949.  Upon graduation she began working in the textile manufacturing industry as a seamstress.  Nina Bell started in Fayette at the National Garment Factory.  From 1980-2004, she worked as an accomplished seamstress for Kellwood/American Recreation in Glasgow.  On May 11, 1968 she married James A. Schaefer.  The Schaefer couple enjoyed over 38 years of marriage.  James preceded her in death in death on October 19, 2006.  Nina Bell’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren.  She loved them all dearly.  Although she worked as a seamstress, she truly enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting in her spare time.

Survivors include her three daughters, Martha (Jim) Kaylor of Glasgow, MO, Alice (Jay) Kaylor of Richmond, MO and Mary Kay (Steven) Noll of Armstrong, MO; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, Nina Bell was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Larry Schaefer; a sister, Dorothy Reams; and two half-brothers, Otis Reams and Cecil Watts.

A funeral service honoring the life of Nina Bell Schaefer will be at 10 A.M., Monday, October 21, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, MO, with Fr. Joshua Duncan.  Visitation will be an hour prior to the service starting at 9 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow.
