Nita Sanders Obituary

Rural Salisbury, MO resident, Nita Sanders, age 67, passed away February 11, 2025 at the University of Missouri Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Nita Faye Sanders was born April 16, 1957 in Marshall, MO.  She was one of three daughters born to the late Frank and Edith (Williams) Kieffer.  She attended Slater schools and ended up graduating from Brunswick High School with the class of 1975.  On June 8, 1975, she married the love of her life of 49 years, Deryl Sanders.  Nita held a few jobs but she was primarily a homemaker, and took pride in being able to raise her son at the family home.  Nita was an avid reader always finding new books to read.  She enjoyed shopping for jewelry, attending auctions, and celebrating the holidays with her family.  Nita was an active Lutheran and regularly attended Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Deryl Sanders; son, Matt (Melissa) Sanders; three grandchildren, Trevon, Makayla and Blake Sanders; two great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Bennett; and a sister, Bonnie Kieffer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Herring.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Sanders will be 11 AM, Monday, February 17, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Noah Burgdorf officiating.  Visitation will be held an hour before the service, starting at 10 AM, at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Salem Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salem Lutheran Cemetery Fund.  Final arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Glasgow.
