Orvella Christensen 1916 - 2015 Glasgow resident, Orvella Christensen passed away at her home May 2, 2015, where she had lived for the past 62 years. She was 99 years of age. Orvella Silvia Christensen was born February 9, 1916 in Havana, ND to Tommy and Augusta (Rein) Oland. She attended Havana High School. She married Andrew L. Christensen November 25, 1936 and he preceded her in death December 27, 2000. Mrs. Christensen had worked at Mattingly's Store for a number of years. She was a devout member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church and taught adult Sunday school for many years. She also volunteered at the Golden Living Center when she was able. Mrs. Christensen gardened and canned fruits and vegetables from her own garden. She always enjoyed being with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Lawrence (Maxine) Christensen of Rolla, MO and Steve (Wilma) Christensen of Independence, MO, two daughters, Betty Cramer of Odessa, MO and Susan (Charlie) Flaspohler of Fayette, eight grandchildren, Eric and Shawn Cramer, Eric (Amy) Christensen, Leslie (Eric) Burgess, Pam (Scotty) Shiflett, Andrew Yardley, Todd Flaspohler and D.J. Flaspohler, eight great grandchildren, Damian, Taylor, Abby, Macy, Jillian, Christopher, Noah and Gabriel, two sisters, Irene Ellsworth of Forman, ND and Shirley (Sidney) Mairs of Lisbon, ND, two sister-in-laws, Violet Oland of Fergus Falls, MN and LaVerle Hansen of Brickenridge, MN and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow with Revs. Brenda West and Jim Crooks officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Glasgow United Methodist Church or Glasgow Food Pantry.
