Patricia Loy Lanham was born in Glasgow on October 24, 1934. She was the last surviving of 10 children born to the late Noble and Minnie Mae (Maddox) Kivett. Pat graduated from Glasgow High School. She then graduated from cosmetology school in Moberly, MO. On April 18, 1959, she married Charles Thomas Lanham at the St. Mary’s Parsonage in Glasgow. Together, they enjoyed over 43 years of marriage and shared four children. Charlie preceded Pat in death on January 12, 2003. Pat held a few jobs throughout her career, but her primary job was taking care of the home and raising her children. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her four children, Charlene (David) Whitesides or Hartsburg, MO, Karen (Jon) Himmelberg of Hartsburg, MO, Pam (Sam Smith) Hoffman of Kansas City, MO and Greg Lanham of Glasgow, MO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was preceded in death by her nine siblings.
Following Pat’s final wishes, there will be no public services. Final arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Glasgow. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the nurses and staff at the Lodge, and to Dina Polson of Hometown Homecare for the wonderful care Pat received.
