Paul Joseph “PJ” Reister, a long-time resident of Vestal, NY, and more recently of Fayette, MO, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born on April 10, 1949, Paul was the son of the late Phillip F. Reister Jr. and Mary C. (Frear) Reister.

After graduating from Vestal Senior High School in June 1968, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving four years at Little Rock Air Force Base.

Following his military service, Paul returned to Vestal, NY, where he lived from 1972 to 1996.  During this time, he worked as a Senior Machinist for GAF/Ozalid Corporation for over 15 years.  Paul later transitioned to a career as a Long-Haul Truck Driver for U.S. Express, moving to Fayette, MO, in 1996 and retiring in 2007.

On December 16, 2000, Paul married Martha G. Renaud in Fayette, MO.  They shared 14 wonderful years of loving marriage until Martha's passing in 2014.

Paul was an avid enthusiast of auto racing, often working as the mechanic for Glenn Knapp Jr Racing at Five Mile Point Racetrack on Friday and Saturday nights.  He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of several men's and co-ed bowling leagues throughout his life, achieving the impressive feat of throwing several perfect "300" games.

Paul is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha G. (Alfred) Renaud; his parents, Phillip F. Reister Jr. and Mary C. Reister; and his brothers, James I. Reister and Kenneth E. Reister.

He is survived by his son, Aaron G. Renaud; his daughter, Kimberly A. Augustaitus, and her husband James H. Barker; and four grandchildren, Michael, Airavae, Naithin, and TJ, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Per Paul's wishes, no public service will be held at this time.  The family appreciates your understanding and asks that you keep his loving soul in your thoughts and prayers, requesting your support and condolences during this challenging time.
