Rachael Richmond

Boonville, MO resident, Rachael Richmond, age 92, passed away at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia on August 1, 2023.

Rachael Marie Richmond was born in Howard County, MO on May 11, 1931.  She was one of three children born to the late Edwin and Pearl (Maupin) Black.  Rachael was a member of the Lisbon Baptist Church.  She graduated from Glasgow High School.  As a young woman, she was employed as a model for Nelly Don in Kansas City, MO.  On March 31, 1970, Rachael married Dorr L. Richmond.  He preceded her in death August 31, 1988.  Rachael enjoyed traveling and went many places through her lifetime.  She also loved to dance at the VFW.

Survivors include her dear companion, Bert Hilden of Boonville, MO; sister-in-law, Gloria Black of Glasgow, MO; three nephews, Curtis (Cindy) Black of Glasgow, MO, Dennis Meyer of Columbia, MO and Doug (Eliane) Black of Brazil; eight great-nieces and nephews and four great-great-nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Rachael was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Black, sister, Loretta Meyer, and a brother-in-law, Eddie Meyer.

A funeral service honoring Rachael’s life will be 11 AM, Monday, August 7, 2023 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Sandra Enyard officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 10 AM.  Burial will follow the service at Rosehill Cemetery.
