Reece Watts 1930 - 2016 Fayette resident, Reece Watts passed away at The Lodge June 5, 2016. He was 86 years of age. Raymond Reece Watts was born March 20th, 1930 in Franklin, MO to Calvin and Lou (Hendrix) Watts. Reece graduated from New Franklin High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received a Bronze Service Star. Reece married Shirley Lee Hawkins September 23, 1954 at the First Christian Church in Fayette. The couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Shirley preceded Reece in death on the same day in June in 2011. Reece worked 34 years for the KPL Gas Company in Fayette retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Fayette First Christian Church. Survivors include his children, Lori Watts of Waco, TX and Steve Watts of Milwaukee, WI and a nephew, Dick Royston of Franklin, MO. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Reece Watts and one sister, Avis Royston. A graveside service will be 11 AM, Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at the Fayette City Cemetery with Rev. Paula Ritchie officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Fayette First Christian Church or Animal Rescue of one's choice in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy 5 & 240 N. Fayette, MO 65248.
