Rhonda Hammons, age 69, passed away January 19, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Rhonda Gayle Hammons was born in Moberly, MO on January 17, 1955.  She was a daughter to the late Chester and Johnnie Faye (Isles) Welch.  Rhonda attended and graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1973.  On March 12, 1977, Rhonda married Larry “Woody” Hammons in Fayette, MO. Rhonda and Woody share three children, and this coming March, they would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.  Rhonda worked at the Glasgow Missourian Newspaper for several years.  She most recently worked in the restaurant and service industry.  She worked as manager of the McDonalds in Fayette, MO for 15 plus years.  Rhonda enjoyed working on crafts, sewing, and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Woody, of the home; her three children, Jamie (Mark) Thies, Curtis Hammons and John (Jessica) Hammons, all of Glasgow, MO; 11 grandchildren, Justin, Jaylee, Mollie, Evan, Ethan, Kelsey, Claire, Addison, Emersyn, Hunter, and Whitleigh; three great-grandchildren, Ryder, Remi, and Camryn; sister, Linda (Eugene) Yung of Boonville, MO.  In addition to her parents, Rhonda was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Welch.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasgow, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral mass at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Armstrong.
