Rita Kinnamon Armstrong resident, Rita Kinnamon passed away August 14, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Glasgow. She was 91 years of age. Marietta "Rita" E. Kinnamon was born April 26, 1924 in Harper, KS to Floyd and Mabel (Stuckey) Smith. She was a graduate of Harper High School and attended Business School in Kansas City. Rita married Russell "Howard" Kinnamon August 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death November 7, 1999. Rita worked for Travelers Insurance in Kansas City for 37 years, retiring in 1979 when she and Howard moved to rural Armstrong. She worked for Exchange Bank as a teller supervisor and also owned and operated the Silver Bell Motel for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Edna Smith of Harper, KS and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Reed and a brother, Leroy Smith. A funeral service will be 11 AM, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11AM. Burial will be the Odessa City Cemetery at 2 PM. Memorials are suggested to Hometown Health Care in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service.
