Rural Fayette, MO resident, Rob Young, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on July 22, 2024. 

Robert O. Young, II was born April 13, 1955 in Columbia, MO.  He was a son to the late Robert O. “Bob” and Marilyn (Miller) Young.  Rob attended and graduated from Fayette High School with the class of 1973.  He furthered his education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Central Methodist College in 1978.  Following college, Rob attended the Erv Malnarich Guide School in Hamilton, Montana.  During the fall season, for about eight years, Rob worked as an outdoor hunting guide with David Smith of Fayette in the Gallatin Mountain Range in Montana.  On November 20, 1982, Rob married Nanette Padgett.  The couple have enjoyed over 41 years of marriage together.  Rob’s primary job for 20 years was working as a carpenter, building, finishing and restoring furniture.  From 1997-2008, Rob worked as the product manager for Van Dyke’s Restorers in Woonsocket, SD.   

Survivors include his wife of the home, Nan; son, Sam Young; step-son, Morgan (Liz) Forderhase; two siblings, Mindy Young and Lindsay Young Lopez. 

Following Rob’s final wishes, there will be no public memorial service.  Inurnment will be held privately by the family.
