Glasgow resident, Robert Waldo Kramm, 72, passed away at Glasgow Gardens on September 19, 2023, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bobby (“Waldo”) was born on December 27, 1950, in Chariton County MO. He was one of four children born to the late L. Waldo and Muriel (Young) Kramm. He attended the Vance one-room schoolhouse, Salem Lutheran Elementary School, and graduated from Glasgow High School in 1968. Waldo enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 and was active in the Army Reserve until 1975.
On August 24, 1974, Bobby married Susan Louise Draffen, who preceded him in death on August 20, 1988. Bobby and Susan were parents to one child, Chad Edward Kramm, born on December 6, 1980, and who passed away on November 3, 2001. Bobby has spent the last 23 years with loving partner, Linda Garven.
Shortly after his high school graduation, Bobby went to work for Audsley Monument Company, where he continued to work periodically over the years. He began learning construction with his uncle at an early age. Throughout his life Bobby worked in the construction trade, working for Donald Freese, Marion Weber, and finally for himself. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating on the Muddy Mo, and tinkering with anything and everything he might turn into a treasure.
Survivors include: his loving partner, Linda Garven, of the home; brother, Larry (Kristin) Kramm of Glasgow, MO; children, Trisha (Randy) Lewis and Doug (Emily) Smith; grandchildren, Shelby, Davi, Ava, and Kenna Smith, Chance (Jolynn) Smith, Dakota (Sam) Meyer, Ashlee (Eysan) Lackland, Hailee Lackland, Zach (Wanda) Lewis, Jenny Lewis, Chase (Covy) Lewis; great grandchildren, Hazelynn, Sage, Beverly, Roselynn, Addison, Haddlee, and Kinley, and 3 great grandsons arriving soon; and numerous brothers/sisters-in-law and nieces/nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, son, Chad, and sisters, Evelyn Bentley and Margie Sanders.
Following Bobby’s wishes, his body has been donated to science in the hope of helping others. There will be no public services. Interment will be held privately at a later time.
