Robert E. Wombles, longtime resident of the Perkins Home in Fayette, MO, passed away on October 17, 2025, at Glasgow Gardens in Glasgow, MO.

Robert Eugene Wombles was born May 9, 1940, in Pettis County, MO.  He was a son to the late Ben H. and Daisy V. (Comnine) Wombles.  Robert grew up and spent his early years mostly in Sedalia, MO.

Robert was born with a warm heart and a gentle spirit.  For many years, he lived at the Linda Perkins Home, where he enjoyed the companionship of his housemates, and the caring support of the staff.  In the fall of 2023, Robert moved to Glasgow Gardens, where he continued to receive loving care.

Robert was a kind and gentle man whose faith guided his life.  He enjoyed attending services at Faith Family Church in Fayette, when he was able, and cherished the fellowship and care of his church community.  Robert also enjoyed going to the Senior Center for lunch and Bingo.  Robert found joy in simple things—watching classic TV shows, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. His warm heart and faith-filled spirit touched those who knew him.  He will be deeply missed by his friends, caregivers, and loved ones.

He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Offenburger and Margie Landon, both of Sedalia, MO.

A funeral service honoring the life of Robert Wombles will be 11 AM, Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, MO, with Rev. Jamie Page officiating.  Private interment will take place at Crown Hills Cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
