Rosalie "Dianne" Filbert Obituary
Dianne Filbert, 82, of Columbia, Missouri went to be in the arms of Jesus on June 30, 2025. Dianne was born on August 28, 1942, in Rushville, Illinois to Howard Wilson Yates & Hazel Irene Yates, née Lung.
Dianne grew up in community of Rushville, Illinois. She attended Hale Ridge Country school, a one-room schoolhouse, for 8 years before going to Rushville High School. In 1960, after graduating, she would go on to attend Brown’s Business School.
With her first husband, Ken Caspall, Dianne owned and operated two Cloud Nine stores in Columbia starting in 1972, and another in Jefferson City’s Capitol Mall which opened in 1979. Dianne was the creative spirit behind these stores for 11 years, cultivating both the business and many of the relationships she would treasure for the rest of her life. Growing Cloud Nine would always remain one of her proudest achievements.
After selling Cloud Nine in 1984, Dianne began her next adventure: the business that she solely owned and operated for 35 years, Identity Custom Emblems - ETC. Identity started with only one local client, but over the years it would grow to do business with organizations all across the United States.
Dianne put her heart and soul into everything she did, and she was grateful for every opportunity God afforded her for success. In 2000, she met her second husband, J. Warren Filbert, who would be her faithful partner and beloved companion for the rest of her life. She had many hobbies and interests, such as fine art and physical fitness, and one of her greatest joys was answering the call to become a pianist for her church. At the age of 70, Dianne began learning the piano on her own with God as her only teacher. She believed there could be no better tutor in the all the world.
Dianne treasured many friendships over the years, including her church family and the friends she made at Wilson’s Total Fitness. She is survived by her husband, J. Warren Filbert; her son, David Caspall; brother, Steven Yates; her sister-in-law, Sheila Yates-Vincent; her stepson, Ryan Filbert, and his children; her stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Renee and Brett Howard, and their children; and her niece, Mary Ann Hard. Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hazel Yates; and by her brother, Dennis Yates.
