Roy Holloway Obituary

Roy Lee Holloway was born on July 27, 1958, in Marshall, Missouri. He was one of three children born to the late Celil Charles Holloway and Anna Pauline (Short) Holloway.

Roy spent his early years at Maple Lawn, where he was lovingly cared for by the Kaufmann family. In October of 1990, he moved to Perkins, and in April of 1995, Roy proudly moved into his own apartment at 204 Villers. For more than 25 years, Roy was a cherished and valued member of the Perkins family.

Roy was blessed to love and be loved by many, most especially Linda and Jack Carter; John Holtzclaw; Chris and Becky Cleek; and their children, Christina and Dakota. These relationships were a meaningful and treasured part of his life. During the last ten years of his life, Roy built a special friendship with his very best friend and “partner in crime,” James Wilhoit. The two were often found checking cows together or heading out for ice cream, moments Roy truly cherished.

Throughout his life, Roy held several jobs, but he took the greatest pride in his work for the City of Fayette in the early 2000s. He enjoyed cleaning around the town square and tending the flower beds at City Hall. Roy also loved attending Endless Options, and after retiring, he especially enjoyed lunches and games of BINGO at the Fayette Senior Center.

Roy is survived by his sister, Linda Greer of Houstonia, Missouri, and by the many friends and extended family he gained through the Perkins Home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Joy Holloway, and by one of the most cherished people in his life, Becky Cleek.

A funeral service honoring Roy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Mike Jackman officiating. Private interment will follow at Blue Lick Cemetery in rural Marshall, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Endless Options or the Fayette Senior Center. Online condolences may be shared at friemonthfreesefuneralservice.com.
