Glasgow, MO resident and longtime area farmer, Sam Brand, age 57, passed away suddenly at his home on September 6, 2025.

Samuel Stephen Brand was born January 19, 1968 in Fayette, MO.  He was one of six children born to the late Linus Benjamin and Mildred Louise (Schaefer) Brand.  He graduated from Glasgow High School with the class of 1986.  On November 17th, 1990, Sam married Stephanie Starke and shared nearly 35 years together.  Under this union the couple shared three children, Madelyne, Landon and Preston.

Alongside his brothers, Sam was a lifelong steward of the land, dedicating his life to farming.  Sam devoted his life to cultivating fields, tending livestock and helping manage Brand Farms with dedication and pride.  He loved his family dearly, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Sam also enjoyed taking vacations and traveling with his family. He most recently enjoyed a trip with his wife and friends to Alaska.

Survivors include his wife Stephanie Brand, of Glasgow, MO; his three children, Madelyne (Nathan) Sanders; Landon (Savannah) Brand, of Columbia, and Preston Brand of Glasgow, MO; 5 grandchildren, Eliza, Libby, Forrest, Vale, and Mae; five siblings, Charlotte (Stevie) Frevert of Glasgow, MO, Michael (Sandy) Brand of Fayette, MO, David (Donna) Brand of Glasgow, MO, Mary Ann (Mitch) Strodtman of Glasgow, MO and Marion “Butch” (Gwen) Brand of Glasgow, MO.  He’s also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Monday, September 8, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Joshua Duncan officiating.  A Rosary will be held before the service at the church starting at 9:30 AM.  Interment will follow services at Aholt Cemetery, north of Glasgow.
