Glasgow resident, Steve Jarrett, age 81, passed away suddenly at his home December 23, 2022.

Steven Wayne Jarrett was born October 12, 1941 in Hookers Point, FL, a son to the late Robert E. and Kallie (Rowden) Adams.  On January 6, 1980, Steve married the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Thomas.  As a couple, they enjoyed over 40 years of marriage until Patty’s passing on March 16, 2020.  Steve always stayed busy and held several jobs throughout his career.  He primarily worked as owner/operator of his garbage disposal business, Jarrett’s Disposal.  Earlier in his career he served as Chief of Police for Glasgow for several years.  Most recently, Steve had worked for approximately 10 years at Home Oil in Fayette as a service station attendant.  Steve loved rebuilding automobiles and tinkering with four -wheel drives and ATVs.  He also enjoyed hunting when he was able.

Survivors include his eight children, Tommy (Ashley) Jarrett of Columbia, MO, Dawn (Jeff) Byrn of Greentop, MO, David (Tammy) Adams of Glasgow, Cotton (Norman) Smith of Foristell, MO, Bobby Adams of Enid, OK, Anthony Adams of New Orleans, LA, Rhonda Ostapchuk of Wright City, MO and Robby Adams of Tampa, FL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Sue, Carolyn, David and Terry Adams.  In addition to his wife and parents, Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Jack, three sisters, Linda, Judy, and Peggy, and an infant brother, John.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2022 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow, with Rev. Jamie Page officiating.  Visitation will be an hour before the service, at the funeral home starting at 10 a.m.  Inurnment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
