Sylvester "Sonny" Cason 1938 - 2015 Sylvester Cason passed away November 24, 2015 at University Hospital in Columbia. He was 76 years of age. Sylvester Leonard Cason known by most folks as "Sonny" was born December 30, 1938 in Glasgow, MO to Emanuel and Alberta (Moore) Cason. He was a graduate of Glasgow High School. Sonny had worked in food service at the University of Missouri over 32 years. He enjoyed traveling and fishing in his spare time. He is survived by a daughter, Ella Cason Allen of Fayette and a son, Michael Cason and wife, Demita of Columbia, two grandsons, Tyrell and James Allen, special friend and companion, Octavia Hayes, special niece, Jacque Smith and her husband, Ed Smith, special nephew, Leonard Lewis and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all that knew him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Harriet Marten, Lillian "Nana Lou" Lewis, Arlene Cason and Elsie Minnis, three brothers, William Cason, George Cason and Emanuel Cason, Jr. Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Chapel in Glasgow with Rev. Earl Howell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Glasgow. Memorials are suggested to the Glasgow Food Pantry or Alzheimer's Research in care of the funeral home.
