Terry Perkins

Salisbury, MO resident, Terry Perkins, age 71, passed away suddenly at Moberly Regional Medical Center on August 1, 2023.

Terry Lee Perkins was born November 23, 1951 in Moberly, MO, a son to the late Clarence “Elmo” and Marjorie (Taylor) Perkins.  Terry graduated from Salisbury High School with the class of 1969.  Terry has worked in the auto body repair industry his entire life.  He started learning the trade at a young age in his father’s shop in Salisbury, Perkins Auto Body.  Terry also worked for Jackson Motors for 19 years and Wilson’s Trailor for nearly seven years.  On February 22, 2003, Terry married Susan (Madden) Dearing in the United Methodist Church in Keytesville, MO.  Together, the couple has enjoyed over 20 years of marriage.  In his spare time, Terry loved taking rides on his Honda motorcycle.  He also enjoyed camping trips and restoring vintage automobiles.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Susan Dearing; four children, Terry (Lori) Perkins of Moberly, MO, Travis Perkins of Seattle, WA, Amanda (Nick) Sears of Salisbury, MO and Joshua (Ashley) Perkins of Bevier, MO; 10 grandchildren; four siblings, Gary (Pat) Perkins of Moberly, MO, David (Robin) Perkins of Versailles, MO, Keith (Rose) Perkins of Salisbury, MO and Brenda (Eddie) Hubbard of Salisbury, MO.  He is also survived by a step-son, Charles (Naomi) Larson of Poulsbo, WA and his former spouse, Wanda Alspaugh of Moberly, MO.  In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Eugene “Gene” Perkins.

Following Terry’s final wishes, there will be no public services.  A celebration of life for family and friends will be held from 1-5 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Balcony Ballroom in Salisbury, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.  Final arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service of Fayette, MO.
