William Newell 1932 - 2015 William Newell passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at his home in rural Gilliam, MO. He was 80 years of age. William Boyd Newell was born in Nelson, MO on June 5, 1935 to Charles Lewis and Annie (Wooldridge) Newell. William married Agnes Van Oppen on June 5, 1980. Together they have enjoyed 35 years of marriage. William worked in the trucking industry as a driver for numerous years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, Great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. William is survived by his wife, Agnes of Gilliam, MO; daughter, Cheri Adcock of Higginsville, MO; two sons, Benjamin Newell of Glasgow, MO and Doug Newell of Gilliam, MO; sister, Shirley Dunn of Richmond, MO; niece, Evalina Poling of Olathe, KS; godson, Dylan Schader of Boonville, MO; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held in Mr. Newell's honor at 3 PM, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Peninsula Cemetery in Blackwater, MO with Willie Harlow officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to Peninsula Baptist Church in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home.
