William "Billy Joe" Baier Obituary

Billy Joe Baier of Armstrong, Missouri passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the age of 85.  He was born in Boonville, Missouri on September 15, 1940 to Earnest Wayne Baier and Mary Christine (Creson) Baier.

Billie Joe attended Armstrong Elementary School, the one-room school at Fulton, MO and graduated from Fulton High School in 1958.

He was drafted in 1961 and attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, then attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for tank operation.  Following training his orders sent him to Germany by boat.  He received multiple commendations and medals for distinguished tank crew for two years of service at the Berlin Wall.

After his service, Billie Joe returned to the Armstrong area to farm with his dad and also purchased his own farm and livestock.  He particularly loved caring for his livestock with kindness.  His neighbors knew him to be a kind and always joyful person.  Alzheimer’s disease forced him to retire from farming, and after many years led to his final days.

Billie Joe is survived by brothers, Donald (Patty) Baier and Ronnie Baier, and multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Janice Baier.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Sharon Bible Church Cemetery to accommodate family and friends.  Memorials may be contributed to the Sharon Cemetery Association.
